Episodic Writing

an advanced form of list writing that builds on themes

Student Writer Instructions:

Today you'll be planning and drafting your own piece of episodic writing.

Click the button below to acquire a subject or theme or topic that really speaks to your life.  Come up with your own subject or theme, if the themes below don't inspire you...or use one of the ideas from the list that your class brainstormed together. Check with your teacher before writing, if you choose your own theme.

Use the graphic organizer, provided by your teacher, to pre-plan a series of short stories on the given topic.  Make sure each “episode” contains both your subject and your main character, which will most likely be you.

The episodes in your story should be chronological and can vary in length.  Think about choosing THE MOST IMPORTANT DETAILS for each short narrative piece.
